FREEPORT, Texas — A high school football team ditched school colors on senior night to honor people they never knew.

The Brazosport Explorers’ new look did not help them win their game versus Needville. However, it could change lives.

Before their final home game, Brazosport seniors planned to look fly.

“Swag is important to these guys,” Head Coach Scott Smithey said.

“(My uniform) has to look good, feel good,” Brazosport senior running back Nyquron Watkins said.

Still, they stood more grounded than ever.
